Dürkopp Fördertechnik has added a second extension to the system it installed for Aurora Fashions at its central distribution centre near Oxford that can store about 1.5m garments.

The contract includes a two-tier hanging mezzanine system and a two-tier hanging garment racking structure. It currently handles up to 100,000 flat/hanging garments a day.

On arrival, goods are scanned, automatically labelled and moved on Dürkopp's trolleyless system which is linked to D-Store, its bespoke warehouse management product. DStore communicates with the client's own software system, picks and sorts orders received daily from 1400 stores.
