Bio-gas boiler November 1st 2007 Wellman Robey is supplying a dual fuel boiler with an unusual end-use. Not only will it provide steam for a distillery but also warmth and hot water for a district heating scheme in the north of Scotland. The boiler, rated at 4,000 kg/hr with a working pressure of 7 bar g, is dual fuel fired using sustainable gasified wood chips and light fuel oil. Hunt Graham, also part of the Wellman Group, has been awarded the contract to supply the calorifiers for the safe transfer of heat to the system. The use of wood chip, which is plentiful in the region, will make a considerable contribution towards reducing normal energy costs while at the same time playing a significant environmental role.
