Engineering company Ceandess has cut annual fuel consumption by more than 40% at its Wolverhampton factory through the hire of a guaranteed performance energy management system from ENER-G Efficiency.

The site has two production shops and a two-storey building with offices and a toolroom. Here, an oil-fired boiler serves radiators and a warm air heater for the toolroom, while ceiling-hung and warm air cabinet units heat the press shop and despatch areas. Two gas-fired cabinet heaters warm the assembly and weld shop, and five manually switched roof extract fans provide ventilation when needed.

The new control system ensures the heating and ventilation plant is fully integrated and efficiently managed from one central point.

Ener-G Efficiency guaranteed a level of annual energy savings and then carried out installation at its own expense all we pay is a monthly direct debit, effectively to hire the control system.

Using a dial-up connection the system provides a constant remote monitoring service and, as a networked BMS, it has resulted in more accurate time/temperature control, minimising fuel use and maximising comfort levels.
