The cat controller
November 1st 2006

The CAT4 heating controller from Chalmor, incorporates boiler load control to maximise boiler efficiency by adjusting the boiler firing pattern to suit load conditions and ambient temperature. It is also ideal for controlling other types of heating including electric, radiant and warm air systems.

Standard control functions include a self-adaptive optimum start facility, weather compensation with the option of direct boiler compensation or control via a motorised valve. The controller also offers single or two zone heating control with independent time and temperature control, as well as time and temperature control for hot water services.

The CAT4 has sensor inputs for external temperature, boiler flow and return, hot water and two space temperature sensors. There is also a two-stage frost facility controlled by the relationship between flow temperature and space temperatures.
