De-dust unit
January 1st 2005

To help reduce the problem of dust collecting on peoples’ clothes, Lafarge Plasterboard of Bristol has installed blower-powered personnel cleaning devices.

The JetBlacks, from Air Control Industries, are located at strategic locations to enable employees to de-dust themselves, thereby limiting dust transfer to other areas.

Wall-mounted, the units are powered by a 1400w blower.

Filtered air is directed via a triggered hand-gun attached to a 1.5m flexible hose. A touch-timer switch helps avoid excessive power use.

The company says as air is delivered at low pressures (less than 3psi), it is safe even when directed at bare skin.
