35TWh of energy saved March 1st 2011 Vacon says its AC drives helped save
an estimated 35TWh of energy in
2010. This corresponds to the amount
of energy produced by about six
700MW nuclear power reactors in a
year.
An AC drive adjusts the speed of
an electric motor according to the real
process need. This typically reduces
energy consumption by 20-50%.
Vacon says energy savings resulting
from an AC drive controlling a motor
quickly make the investment
profitable.
Vesa Laisi, Vacon's president and
CEO, comments: "Vacon has delivered
AC drives since 1995, and they are
used to control electric motors and in
renewable energy generation. More articles from Vacon Plc: |
