Boost to carpet sampling process May 1st 2009 By using Powerlink technology from
Baldor for realtime, multi-axis
synchronization,Modra Technology's
Mtuft machines can produce a tufted
carpet sample in just 20min.
The company chose an all-servo
design. There are nine axes of
electrically-operated movement, all
controlled by a Baldor motion
controller. Seven are driven by
Baldor single-phase AC servo drives
and servomotors, using Ethernet
Powerlink for all communication
between the controller and drives.
Five of the axes user interpolation,
again handled over Powerlink. The
remaining two use small DC motors.
Modra can now calibrate its
machines digitally, which is said to
be easily done using Baldor's Mint
programming language. More articles from Baldor UK Limited: |
