Fans for flight September 1st 2008 British Airways is cutting energy
consumption by up to 95% on air
handling and environmental control
systems installed in flight simulator
cells at its flight training centre at
Heathrow airport, says Parker
Hannifin.
Previously the air handling units
used motor driven fans,
continuously driven at maximum
speed, regardless of actual
demand. The new Parker 650V AC
VSDs enable the fans to be driven
slowly or at idling speeds for most
of the year, with maximum output
capacity during warm weather.
"They are simple and
straightforward to use, and Parker
offers excellent local technical
support," says Dennis Doody, BA
senior engineering technician. More articles from Parker Hannifin Ltd: |
