Screw units May 1st 2008 Drives can make a valuable
contribution to energy saving and
carbon reduction, in rotary and
linear motion devices. Hydraulic
actuators are around 50% efficient
and pneumatic systems can have
air leaks. However, Servo electric
linear actuators are typically 90%
efficient. Roller screw servo
actuators offer increased life in
comparison to ball screw devices,
with faster response, greater
accuracy, higher loads and less
backlash. For this reason roller
screw units are becoming the
industry standard when robust
linear motion is called for. Olsen
Engineering's new Tritex units
package up the actuator, servo
motor, encoder, amplifier and
positioner in one compact efficient
frame, dispensing with the need to
mix-and-match vital components
and cable them together, solving
reliability problems involving faulty
cable connections. |
