Energy 2006 July 1st 2006 "UK energy users and suppliers are at the crossroads concerning the ever spiralling cost of energy. In this respect Energy 2006 sponsored by EDF Energy will play a key role in providing industry with viable solutions to this growing problem. We are now widely identified as the leading UK showcase of innovative and cost saving energy solutions and are determined to develop this commitment still further with an even more successful show this year" states Eamonn Brennan event director.
Energy 2006 will take place 7/8th September at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. A comprehensive conference and workshop programme will be presented this year by CIBSE, ESTA, the Major Energy Users Council (MEUC), Encore International, Envirowise and last but by no means least, the Energy Information Centre (EIC). CPD attendance points are awarded at both the ESTA and CIBSE conferences. Each session is worth 1 hour and a certificate will be awarded at the end of the sessions.
The EIC seminar, entitled "Integrated Energy Cost Control" will address the manner in which energy resources are purchased and managed, covering the whole supply chain from procurement to data validation and utilisation. The CIBSE programme will include energy and water efficiency topics that concern all businesses. The MEUC offering will consider how market conditions, regulatory reactions, buyer and supplier strategies, efficiency measures and pricing forecasts can keep user 'ahead of the game.' ESTA's workshops will focus on the theme "Fighting back against energy prices" and Encore International will be holding a series of energy price risk management workshops aimed at those who purchase energy. BCAS is holding its annual national members meeting and Envirowise will be holding a one day seminar/workshop programme on the topic of water efficient solutions.
Exhibitors this year include energy saving equipment manufacturers, utilities suppliers, research organisations and advisory bodies. Equipment on display will be wide reaching in its scope and will present many welcome answers to the perennial cost, efficiency and legislative problems that plague UK industry. It will include variable speed motors, pumps and fans, CHP systems, management and specialised control systems, monitoring and metering equipment and energy efficient heating and air conditioning equipment and much more besides.
Finally, all visitors on Friday the 8th September will be provided with free refreshments courtesy of Western Business Exhibitions in honour of our special guest Sir Bobby Charlton, a director of upower, and a trained engineer with a passionate interest in energy and environmental issues. Sir Bobby will be talking in the morning at the ESTA conference.
