Air cooler uses natural refrigerants
January 1st 2011

Alfa Laval's Alfa Igloo is an insulated air cooler designed to provide cooling or freezing capabilities in buildings such as distribution centres, using natural refrigerants such as ammonia, CO2 or brine.

With an air volume of up to 110,000m3/h in the standard range (larger capacities on request), Alfa Igloo can be mounted directly within the area to be cooled or placed externally along with the associated refrigerant piping and connections, in which case cold air is distributed around the cold room via ducting.

The unit is available with 2 - 6 fans, depending on the cooling required and the room volume. It is capable of evaporating temperatures of 5 to -40°C.
