Heating up May 1st 2006 Energy efficient radiant tube heating from Ambi-Rad has been installed in the K2 sports hall and gymnasium - a new community sports and leisure complex in Crawley that will serve as a template for future large scale public leisure facilities.
To provide background warmth, the Nor-Ray-Vac continuous radiant tube heating system comprises 12 NRV 32LR burners, covering the entire floor area of the sports hall, and four units in the gym. The low intensity warmth with rapid heat-up and heat recovery, together with low noise, makes the system suitable for sports facilities.
The physical properties of the radiant heat mean it can be set to a lower constant temperature than other forms of heating to achieve the same level of comfort for both active and seated building occupants, which uses less fuel.
