Smarter metering
May 1st 2006

Accurate bills , reduced accounting and administration costs are some of the benefits of the smartMetering service being introduced to the nonhalf hourly electricity market as well as for all gas and water supplies.

The meter readings collected by this new service from accredited data collector, Clarity (operated by Stark Software), will be sent directly to suppliers so that customer bills will be based on actual consumption rather than guess work. The unit uses SMS text messaging to deliver the data.
