November 1st 2003 Meech Air Technology claims its Jet Stream fan-driven air knife system can eliminate the need for compressed air in drying applications, giving significant energy savings.
The device provides cost effective product drying, swarf removal or cooling. Other benefits claimed include low noise levels and a lack of moving parts to keep the maintenance requirement low.
Jet Stream is powered by a fan that delivers high pressure air through a tear drop manifold outlet, from which it discharges at velocities to 100m/sec. Air exits in a consistent, laminar flow pattern that minimises turbulence, and entrainment of potentially dirty ambient air is minimised.
