Infra-red November 1st 2003 By installing an infra-red oven from Heraeus Noblelight, Klinger UK has achieved significant savings in energy costs in the curing of powder coatings on sealing gaskets at its Bradford manufacturing plant.
The oven occupies less than half the space required by the previous gas-fired convection oven and has allowed component throughput to be increased considerably as there is no need to wait for it to reach temperature before components are passed through.
The monorail medium wave oven is 5.6m long and has an internal heated height of 1.3m so that it can handle gaskets up to 1.2m diameter.
The oven is now switched on only when needed, significantly reducing energy costs. More articles from Heraeus Noblelight Ltd: |
