Protects against power failure
March 1st 2005

At 102mm wide, the new 40A Sitop power DC UPS from Siemens Automation and Drives is onethird the width of its predecessor.

In the event of failure of the AC mains supply to a switch mode DC power supply, or a failure of the PSU itself, the DIN rail mounted DC UPS module switches over to the 24V battery back-up without any interruption to the load.

The uninterrupted switching prevents downtime or crashes of critical parts of a system, and allows safe shutdown of DC powered industrial PC systems, without loss of data.

Compact uninterruptible Sitop power supplies are offered with 6, 15 and 40A current capability.

The DC UPS modules have a battery management system to optimise the load of the connected batteries.
