An energy efficient ultrapulse control system from Donaldson Ultrafilter helps optimise refrigerant dryer operating costs.

The system is said to consume about one-third of the energy used by refrigerant dryers with conventional hot gas bypass controls. The control system flexibly adjusts the cooling performance of the dryer to each individual application, even when dryers are used to prepare compressed air from variable speed compressors.

There is no need for bypass controls, as even in part-load operation the dryer will use only the precise amount of energy necessary to dry the required volume of air.

Dryers in the Buran series (from SD 0050 upwards) now come with integral ultrapulse control.
