Big Business Refit: interest grows
November 1st 2009

The Carbon Trust has called on UK air conditioning suppliers to take advantage of a sales opportunity arising from its equipment scrappage scheme: The Big Business Refit.

This provides small and medium businesses with £100m in interest-free funding to replace old equipment and install new, energy efficient upgrades.

About £3.5m of this money is likely to be spent on air conditioning and refrigeration, according to Carbon trust estimates.

The Big Business Refit was launched in September after research revealed that 52% of British businesses don't have the cash to upgrade inefficient equipment. Carbon Trust has experienced a 250% surge in enquiries about the loans, as more businesses become aware of the opportunity to cut energy bills by scrapping old equipment.
