Big Business Refit: interest grows
November 1st 2009

The Carbon Trust has called on UK air conditioning suppliers to take advantage of a sales opportunity arising from its equipment scrappage scheme: The Big Business Refit.

This provides small and medium businesses with Ł100m in interest-free funding to replace old equipment and install new, energy efficient upgrades.

About Ł3.5m of this money is likely to be spent on air conditioning and refrigeration, according to Carbon trust estimates.

The Big Business Refit was launched in September after research revealed that 52% of British businesses don't have the cash to upgrade inefficient equipment. Carbon Trust has experienced a 250% surge in enquiries about the loans, as more businesses become aware of the opportunity to cut energy bills by scrapping old equipment.
