Solar driven extractor fan
May 1st 2005

Monodraught has launched two new designs of its solar driven extract fan and combination lightpipe system with the solar driven extract fan incorporated into the system as standard.

Firstly, there is the “Sirroco”, which incorporates the SunPipe ceiling diffuser and ceiling bezel to suit bathrooms or shower rooms.

The “Sirroco” is available in two sizes with the 9” (230mm) diameter SunPipe and with the 12” (300mm) diameter SunPipe.

The “Mistral” again incorporates the SunPipe ceiling diffuser and ceiling bezel. Designed with more traditional bathrooms or shower rooms in mind, the system provides a discreet finish.

The Sola-Vent 230 gives a ventilation rate of 15L/s to meet the Building Regulations, whilst the Sola-Vent 300 will give a ventilation rate of 60L/s.

The new Sola-Vents are designed to be available this summer in these two new sizes.

The first is a slight upgrading from the original Sola-Vent to accommodate the 9” (230mm) diameter SunPipe system and this ideally suited to bathrooms, shower rooms, and toilet areas, whereas the larger Sola-Vent 300 with the 12” (300mm) diameter SunPipe is ideally suited to serve areas of up to 100sq.ft or 9sq.m and provides a ventilation rate of 60L/s.

Both Sola-Vent systems incorporate the solar driven extract fan, which is a special low noise fan contained within the ABS unit, minimising fan noise and it is also IP fire rated. The high efficiency DC motor has a long life of 50 000 hours, which is in excess of 55 years under normal usage of 2 hours per day. A separate timer unit is connected to the PIR unit to provide fully automatic operation of the extract fan. The timer control is configured to provide an overrun of 15 minutes as required by Building Regulations but is fully adjustable.
