New service agreement
September 1st 2007 Under the terms of a new
agreement Alfa Laval will
service and maintain all
decanter centrifuges used
by Severn Trent Water to
dewater sewage sludge in
its sewage treatment works.
The company had
previously maintained only
its own brand decanters at
Severn Trent Water sites.
Now, following the
implementation of the
Performance Agreement, it
has assumed responsibility
for 80 decanters in 83
different locations.
The contract covers
regular quarterly site visits
to monitor the decanters,
identify any necessary
maintenance and carry out
repairs or provide
replacements to keep them
operating at maximum
efficiency.
Commenting on the
agreement, Arthur Belgrove
of Severn Trent Water says
"The expertise demonstrated
in handling these major
agreements, plus Severn
Trent's first-hand experience
of Alfa Laval's skills and
process know-how, was a
big factor in awarding the
