Scissor lifts aid battery transfer

Advanced Handling has supplied a series of scissor lifts for transferring batteries between charging stations and trains for the London Underground.

The tables have been designed to lift batteries to 1300mm for rapid turnaround when changing the power supplies.

Fitted with pneumatic tyres, the units are highly manoeuvrable and capable of being moved over the tracks when performing the battery change operation.

Sectioned off areas of the table and an interchangeable bridging plate fitted with a roller ball surface have helped simplify the process into a single person operation.
