Belt and braces March 1st 2006 As a preferred supplier to Pauleys, a national foodservice distribution company and part of the Brakes Group, Conveyor Systems (CSL) was contacted to modify two existing lines and provide a new materials handling system. A new mezzanine extension allowed a further 15 bays of carton live storage to be located and CSL co-ordinated the project, designing and installing a system to provide a controlled flow of cardboard cases to supply order picking through to palletising and despatch.
A new automatic case erector supplies the cardboard boxes.
These are fed to an automated labelling station, which also acts as a picking sheet. The cases then feed up an inclined belt conveyor on to a lineshaft powered roller conveyor to be transported along the face of the multi-tier carton live storage, stopping at destination pick zones.
In order to remove packaging waste from the live storage order picking face, CSL designed and installed an automated waste removal belt conveyor also. More articles from Conveyor Systems Limited: |
