Customised conveyor for clean room
July 1st 2008

A multi-national pharmaceutical company that had previously worked with Conveyor Systems (CSL) has awarded the company a contract to design and build an inspection and packaging belt conveyor. It will operate in a clean room environment, handling small phials of cancer drugs.

CSL provided a custombuilt, slimline, stainless steel belt conveyor with FDAapproved green belting. Measuring just over 4m long by 200mm wide and fitted with a control panel, the conveyor has variable speed control (10 to 15m/min) to provide flexibility in operation.

To assist with detailed inspection and hand picking of phials, the conveyor was designed with a smooth enclosed underside to enable operatives to be seated close to it. Product is conveyed through inspection, tamper-proof sealed, and accumulates at the end of the conveyor for removal.
