Toast rack March 1st 2006 Conveyors (UK) has built a new process buffer story for Ricor, a leading manufacturer of pressings and assemblies to the automotive industry. The buffer, which will be placed between welding and drilling operations handling automotive seat cushions, uses roller conveyors with customised slave boards.
Conveyors (UK) proposed the use of two off, two tiered powered lineshaft driven roller conveyors to transport specially designed slave boards carrying four sets of seat cushions in a 'toast rack' arrangement. Exiting the weld robot, an operator loads and pushes the slave board onto driven rollers to accumulate on the conveyor to a maximum of eight boards, sufficient to provide an adequate buffer store.
On removing the seats for drilling, the operator returns the empty slave boards on the lower conveyor for refill. More articles from Automation Supplies Ltd: |
