Controls case flow May 1st 2007 As a supplier to Pauleys, a machine much easier."
national foodservice
distribution company and
part of the Brakes Group,
Conveyor Systems was
asked to modify two
existing lines and provide a
new materials handling
system to coincide with the
extension of a mezzanine.
The mezzanine extension
allows a further 15 bays of
carton live storage to be
located at the upper level.
CSL co-ordinated the
project, designing and
installing a system to
provide a controlled flow of
cardboard cases to support
order picking through to
palletising and despatch.
A new automatic case
erector supplies cardboard
boxes on demand. These
are fed to an automated
labelling station; the label
also acting as a picking
sheet. Cases feed up an
inclined belt conveyor to a
lineshaft powered roller
conveyor to be transported
along the face of the multitier
carton live storage,
stopping at agreed
destination pick zones.
CSL designed and
installed an automatic waste
removal belt conveyor above
the racking. Empty trays are
removed by order pickers
and placed on the belt
conveyor. More articles from Conveyor Systems Limited: |
