Fashion role September 1st 2008 HiLo-PSS Group has helped to
create a hi-tech central distribution
centre for fashion chain Peacocks.
HiLo-PSS prepared CAD
drawings to maximise space at the
facility near Cardiff and provide a
streamlined system to cater for the
50 000 garments received and
despatched each day. Designs
included installation of a two-tier
mezzanine and a hanging garment
conveyor and sortation system.
Garments are uploaded to a
manual push rail system and into
a pre-receiving buffer where they
are manually sorted. A separation
hanger, with RF tag, is attached to
each batch. The batch is fed to a
ladder conveyor, which transfers
garments to the designated zone
from where they are collected and
stored by operators. More articles from HiLo-PSS Group: |
