November 1st 2006 Keymas-Egemin UK has completed a successful installation at Hansen transmissions. Egemin's product and IT expertise was used to provide a warehouse solution for the company's logistics hub. The aim was to reconsolidate goods and to supply consolidated orders to production, assembly and despatch divisions. The new system had to maximise space, provide safe handling, picking accuracy and increase processing speed. Various technologies were combined to accommodate the range of goods – using Egemin automatic pallet warehousing to handle most goods, Kardex shuttles for lightweight, small items and storage in conventional racks for large, heavy objects. Goods are picked using the Goods-to-Man principle, allowing automatic selection of items in store and delivery to warehouse personnel. The E'wms warehouse management system manages the pick process, provides parts tracking and accurate inventory of goods. More articles from Keymas Limited: |
