Odlums flour has doubled production by installing a turnkey conveying and palletising system at one of its mills in Co. Laois.

When it came to palletising its diverse product range, the company turned to LVP Conveyors (formerly Okura Automation) for a tailor-made solution.

The installation current palletises five different sized products, but this may change in the future as new bag sizes are added. Speeds of up to 700 packs per hour or 12 pallets per hour are currently being attained.

A specially designed vacuum hand accommodates the wide range of products. The Okura Robot used was designed and purpose-built for palletising or depalletising. Control software is Windows-based, user friendly and self-optimising to ensure speed and accuracy to the nearest 0.3 of a millimetre.
