Tyre storage problem solved for Bridgestone September 1st 2005 Abi-directional conveyor belt system has been designed and manufactured by UPM for Bridgestone Motorsport to transport 10kg tyres from floor level to 3m high containers, doubling the company’s storage capacity.
The criteria for the conveyor system was that it must transfer around 400 tyres inside 30min using one person to load and one person to unload with ease of access.
UPM provided a solution using a plastic link QNB belt fitted with a rubber insert to achieve a 30° incline that reduced the floor area.
The control was fitted with a variable speed inverter providing a speed of up to 12m/min, three emergency stop buttons and a slave panel fitted to the discharge point to allow an operator to stop, start and reverse the conveyor direction without returning to the main control located at floor level. |
