Heavy duty doors allow fast, easy access

Investment in new manufacturing equipment and a redesign of production layout at the Blackpool depot of commercial vehicle manufacturer Dennis Eagle has led to the installation of two fast acting doors to allow easy movement into and out of the finishing shop.

With a number of Crawford Hafa doors already on site, production manager, Ken Cowell, appreciated the benefits of a single supplier on site, but still checked out alternatives before opting for the fast acting doors from Crawford.

Created to fit the in-bound door opening, the 5270 by 4100mm door is made from a strong material capable of withstanding a higher wind load. Heavy duty operating gear was incorporated.

The door allows ample clearance for manoeuvrability of a fork lift truck bearing cab shells.

Electrically-operated, it opens automatically allowing a loaded truck to pass without obstruction or delay and without risk of collision.

There is a separate pedestrian access door.

A slightly smaller Crawford fast acting door at the end of the finishing line has a vision window to allow swift, safe egress from the building onto a busy access road.
