New centre opens its doors September 1st 2008 Keystone Distribution UK has
returned to Hemel Hempstead with
a new 22 800m2 distribution centre.
Its previous centre was destroyed
in the Buncefield Oil depot
explosion. Union Industries has
supplied 14 Eiger doors and 11
Bulldoors for the facility.
All but one of the Bulldoors are
used internally, while the Eiger
Doors provide benefits in terms of
energy savings, freezer efficiency
and low maintenance costs.
Part of the Matadoor range of Hi
Speed Roller Doors, the doors are
activated to open automatically at
speeds of 1.7m/sec, using a mix of
internal induction loop and external
radar motion sensor.
Bulldoors have a crash-out
facility, which ensures the doors
remain operable if hit by a vehicle.
Common to all doors in the
Matadoor range, Bulldoors have
fire retardant and anti-static door
blades and 12 health and safety
devices.
Eiger doors also have crash-out
device, and a dehumidified air
circulatory system that removes
moisture that causes ice to form
and keeps the drive and working
parts dry and clean. The Eiger
Doors at Keystone are also used in
a new concept to provide air locks
between freezer areas. More articles from Union Industries: |
