Parts storage
September 1st 2007

Rubb Buildings' construction of a new warehouse for AEPCO Marine provided the shipyard with a muchneeded new parts storage facility.

Originally, AEPCO looked at using a metal structure, but decided that it would not be suitable for their requirements.

Located in Virginia, the new warehouse measures 15.24m wide by 38.11m in length and has a 6m sidewall. It was designed to a 20- psf-ground snow load, 120mph and 3sec gust wind speed.

The structure provides a safe, ergonomic working environment, with the galvanised steel frame allowing maximum use of available space and the partially translucent roof providing a natural balanced source of light.

Rubb also received a contract for a BVE building, two THA shelters and three THX shelters.
