Factory floor for Fort

Q Flooring has installed a floor for Fort Vale Engineering's new, stateof- the art manufacturing plant in Simonstone – without disrupting transfer of plant from its old factory.

The factory is purposebuilt and every attention has been given to detail, to ensure optimum efficiency in all areas. This includes the 8600m2 factory floor which had to take the point loading of heavy machinery and fork lift truck traffic.

Flooring had to be hard wearing, slip resistant, easy to keep clean, and truck routes and work areas had to be defined with yellow demarcation lines.

Due to the high residual moisture content in the old floor, Q Flooring's installers applied a vapour permeable resin floor system that would allow it to breathe without delaminating. Oil spillage is inevitable, so the floor was provided with an anti-slip profile using chemical and wear resistant polymer beads. A 1.5mm thick version using carborundum aggregates to provide even higher antislip profile and wear resistance was applied to heavily trafficked areas.
