30% more storage November 1st 2005 Introduction of an Aisle-Master electric articulated forklift has enabled gourmet chocolate manufacturer Lily O'Brien's to increase storage capacity at its Irish plant by 30%.
The company urgently needed more space. Extending was not an option and the layout of the building was also problematic as it is long and narrow with only two aisles between the racks. The Aisle-Master articulated forklift was considered the best option.
As some of the product to be stored is lightweight packaging, a double-deep solution was proposed. The Aisle-Master was fitted with telescopic forks that extend through the first row of racking to retrieve pallets stored in the row behind. This enabled Lily O'Brien to add a third row of racking down the centre of its warehouse, giving a 30% increase in capacity with minimum disruption. More articles from Aisle-Master Ltd: |
