Cushion tyre performance from latest electric range
September 1st 2005

Benefits claimed for Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks’ new cushion-tyre, 4-wheel electric counterbalance forklifts include extra strength, low noise and low emissions.

With cushion tyres helping to minimise truck dimensions, an efficient 48V battery to deliver the power and a capacity range from 3.5 to 5.5t, Mitsubishi believes the heavy duty FBCN series will be the perfect choice for many applications.

Cushion tyres are said to provide good traction on smooth surfaces, low rolling resistance, reduced energy consumption, stability and greater residual capacities at high lifts.

Both the drive and the hydraulic control systems use MOSFET transistor technology to provide responsive performance and enhanced productivity. The separately excited drive motor can be programmed to match torque and speed to each application. Its functioning is coupled with regenerative braking to improve energy efficiency, extend shift life and reduce brake wear.

A number of inbuilt safety and ergonomic features are included.
