Greater versatility September 1st 2008 Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Combilift has
launched the Combi-CB multi-directional forklift.
The new truck can be used to load containers and
take pallets or long loads directly into the warehouse
Since the introduction of the original
Internal Combustion (IC) powered
Combilift, the company has, on
average, launched a new model each year.
Commenting on the launch Martin
McVicar, managing director of Combilift,
said: "Versatility has always been a
hallmark of Combilift products, and the
Combi-CB is no exception." The Combi-
CB is more compact than a traditional
counterbalance forklift,
has the added
advantage of multidirectional
operation,
and is therefore suitable
for any customer who
handles palletised
goods and long length
products.
This new Combilift
will bring advantages to
customers who today
may be using standard
conventional counterbalance
forklifts, reach
trucks, side loaders, or
electric 4-way forklifts.
This new 2500Kg capacity multi-directional
Combi-CB available in LP Gas, Diesel &
Electric is available in lift heights up to
7.5m. Its rubber tyres give the advantage
of indoor/outdoor capabilities. A fully
enclosed cabin with heater can be offered
to accommodate harsh/wet environments.
Martin McVicar foresees a wide variety of
suitable applications for the truck,
particularly in retail outlets and
manufacturing plants where not only the
use of all available shelf space is crucial
but also safe handling and manoeuvrability
is paramount. The 1400mm wide fork
carriage with optional integrated fork
positioner is effective for handling long
products.
As there is no platform, goods can be
stacked directly from the floor up, enabling
100% use of lower storage areas. The
compact size of the Combi-CB allows it to
stuff and de-stuff containers and transport
the pallets or long loads directly to the
warehouse. Combilift will provide potential
customers with a proposed layout drawing
free of charge to show their possible
product storage when considering the
Combi-CB for their operations.
After two years of development and
extensive trials, with over 100 of these
units in operation, the Combi-CB is now in
serial production. Combilift has expanded
its premises by 20,000ft2 to cope with the
additional volume of output. This new
model will increase the company's
turnover by €10m during 2009, and create
20 additional jobs.
"In just ten years Combilift has grown to
be the global leader in the long-load
handling market," said Martin McVicar.
"We currently have over 9000 units in
operation, with capacities from 2.5 to 14
tonnes in over 50 markets worldwide.
Since our inception, we have offered a
customised range to suit various individual
requirements across a range of industry
sectors."
McVicar concludes "This customer-led
approach has been a strong component of
our success. The offering of the Combilift
can bring increased manoeuverability and
space savings to nearly any business that
involves the transportation of long loads." More articles from Combilift Limited: |
