As part of a 420k capital investment programme to support increased production, Permastore has taken delivery of a Nu-star Power Pusher as a means of keeping its new Trumpf Trumatic TC5000R steel press supplied with sheet steel.

The Power Pusher is used to push and pull stacks of sheet steel into and out of the new Trumpf press. Sheets vary from 2 to 7mm in thickness and each stack weighs 4t.

Kevin Woods of Permastore, comments The Power Pusher has taken all of the physical effort out of this process and reduced the likelihood of any hand or finger injuries that may have resulted from direct handling of the steel sheets. It has proved popular with all the staff here.

The unit is one of a range of pedestrian operated, battery powered tug units capable of pulling, pushing and generally manoeuvring wheeled industrial loads from 500 to more than 100 000kg.
