Following a review of its materials handling fleet, Meller Home & Beauty asked Barloworld Handling to supply six Hyster matrix 1600kg capacity reach trucks.

Working to strict order plans and stacking up to 9m meant a robust, reliable reach truck was required.

Nigel Baker, logistics manager, comments “We looked at a number of trucks but, after numerous demos, chose the Hyster R1.6 as operators found it very comfortable.

“Also the maintenance-free batteries were a bonus as we use agency staff during peak periods.” Other features include AC motor technology for faster cycle times, shorter braking distances and fast acceleration to top speed. Meller also finds the height pre-select option useful.
