A new single Smart Card system from Davis Derby integrates customers’ existing Smart Card applications to offer what it calls ‘added value to industry’.

The company’s Trucklog fork lift truck driver operating system was supplied to Toyota Industrial Equipment UK for installation on 92 FLTs at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in Derbyshire. It uses RF communication technology to transmit and log data between a multi-function Smart Card and reader device for all businesses using FLTs.

The company says access control and fleet management can be achieved at a lower additional cost for users of Smart Card systems and such benefits can be used to justify the initial outlay.
