Space saving March 1st 2006 Truckman, manufacturer of hardtops for pick-up trucks has taken delivery of an Aisle-Master articulated forklift truck with longer than standard forks to ensure the flexible and reliable handling of its growing range of products.
Although the Aisle-Master articulated forklift is associated with the handling of standard palletised goods in very narrow aisles and high-level warehousing operations, materials handling consultant M+W Toyota Handling recommended it for this application due to its inside and outside operation, its manoeuvrability to access tight areas and its overall flexibility of use.
Very narrow aisles are not feasible in this instance due to the dimensions of packs, but Aisle-Master says that savings of at least 30% have been achieved compared with counterbalance operation.
Warehouse supervisor Ron Morris is impressed by the truck's construction, good visibility, and adjustable steering column.
