January 1st 2011 At the 50 acre site of structural steel
specialist, Severfield-Rowen, in North
Yorkshire, a fleet of 20+ sideloaders is
supplied and maintained by Lancer
Sideloaders and its specialist dealer,
Northern Handling Systems. The fleet
is essential to the operation, ensuring
a smooth material flow even when the
plant runs at a weekly capacity of
1600t of processed steel. The Lancer
sideloaders load and unload lorries
and move the steel between processes
such as welding or painting.
The Severfield fleet includes 6, 8, 10
and 15t sideloaders. The two newest
additions to the fleet are the Lancer
HSL 150/24/40 model, the large
wheels of which ensure safe handling
on uneven ground. Safety and
operator comfort further benefit from
the panoramic cabin, ensuring good
