Trucks help cut lease costs November 1st 2005 Since closing down surplus storage premises, aerosol valve producer, Lindal Valve Co, has saved more than £30 000 a year on leasing costs. Two articulating, electric Bendi forklifts from Translift Bendi play a key role in achieving these savings.
Following group rationalisation, Lindal was faced with the problem of how to store more pallets in one of its stores.
The Bendi articulating forklift can work in aisles 1.8m wide. Compressing aisles from 3 to 2.1m has enabled Lindal to gain 240 extra pallet spaces. Other benefits delivered by the Bendi include its ability to unload lorries and go straight to racking duties, cutting out double handling.
Drivers are said to have a clearer view of their load when interfacing with racking beams than is possible with reach or counterbalance trucks, and the trucks do not suffer from rear end swing.
Rated at 1750kg at 600mm load centres, the two Bendis can lift 1250kg loads to 6.6m, or 1750kg to 3.3m, and both have side shift. More articles from Translift Bendi Limited: |
