Trucks solve a fishy problem
November 1st 2005

Hull-based Glenrose Fish Company has taken delivery of two new Mitsubishi trucks from local dealer MH Industrial.

The trucks are a PBP20K pedestrian powered pallet truck and aN FB15K RT 3- wheel electric counterbalance.

The former, with low energy consumption and good manoeuvrability, is suitable for heavy, continuous use and for operation in confined spaces.

The latter, also suitable for locations where space is at a premium, is particularly driver-friendly and said to offer outstanding comfort and visibility. Easy entry and exit, an ergonomically designed operator's compartment and advanced electronics help to maximise productivity.

Most important for Glenrose was reliability. The company had tried various makes of truck, but none could cope with the demanding conditions, suffering corrosion and electrical failure.

To ensure the FB15K RT would operate efficiently in the wet, salty environment, its chassis, mast and carriage were galvanised, its electrics sealed and the underneath protected with special wax oil.
