A hired forklift saves the bacon March 1st 2008 After teenagers set fire to
the 32,000ft2 premises of
catering equipment supplier
Leon Jaeggi & Sons last
May, md Leon Jaeggi
admits business would not
have survived without the
help of a hired Bendi forklift.
All stock and premises
were destroyed so the
company had to move to a
different location which was
only one third of the size
and split over 3 units. The
business had no other
options as it had to stay in
the area to retain its only
untouched asset, its staff.
The disaster recovery
plan concentrated on
supplying the 20 largest
customers but there were
doubts whether the much
smaller warehouse units
would be enough.
However with the hired
Bendi forklift, it proved
possible to almost double
storage. The rotating mast
and forks allowed work in
1.6m aisles, whereas
previous electric
counterbalanced forklifts
had worked in 3.6m aisles.
The original hired forklift
has now been replaced with
2 new B313 Bendi models More articles from Translift Bendi Limited: |
