Awards for Excellence March 1st 2008 Among the most warmly applauded
announcements at the recent Fork
Lift Truck Association Awards for
Excellence 2008 were those for two
tyre manufacturers.
Watts Industrial Services took the
'Archie' for Supplier of the Year, while
Continental Tyre Group received the
Design achievement Archie for its
CSEasy tyre which can be fitted
using just a simple torque wrench.
Unusually, there were two winners
of the Apprentice of the Year Award:
Ben Duff of Jungheinrich and Joseph
Turner of Toyota. The employee of
the Year Award went to Ian stone of
Windsor Engineering in Hull and, in
an entirely new category, Sellafield
became the first winner of the Safe
Site Award.
The four Awards decided by an
open vote within the materials
handling community were won by
Still (Environment), Crown
(Ergonomics), Doosan (Safety) and
Komatsu (Innovation).
David Ellison, FLTA chief
executive, comments "Awards 2008
has been another resounding
success. We hope that by shining
the spotlight on all that is best in
materials handling we will have
helped to encourage continued
improvement in standards." More articles from The Fork Truck Association: |
