Marley opts for three-in-one
November 1st 2007 Three 4t diesel-powered Combilift 4-way forklifts working at Marley Plumbing and Drainage have enabled savings to be made on storage and ensured safer handling of long loads at the company's site in Lenham. The Combilifts replace a mixture of sideloaders and counterbalance forklifts and handle 6m lengths of pipe, extruded profiles and large bore pipes. Stuart Hawkins, warehouse manager, says "The beauty of the Combilifts is their versatility and ability to work as three machines in one. We can offload and manoeuvre product around the site with just the one type of forklift, reducing any double handling." Aisle widths have been cut from 7m to 2 or 2.5m, increasing storage capacity.
