March 1st 2009 Dublin-based third party logistics
provider PRL Group has replaced a
combination of counterbalance and
reach trucks with two AC electric
powered Aisle-Master articulated
forklifts. The result is better use of
warehouse space and more versatile
handling and storage procedures.
The forklifts are used for a variety
of tasks, including order picking, and
their ability to work in narrow aisles
has enabled PRL to install an
additional row of double racking to
create 700 more pallet spaces.
AC power is offered as standard
on all electric models, and PRL is
one of the first Aisle
Master customers
to benefit from it.
Performance is said
to be enhanced
while fuel
consumption is
reduced. Better
battery efficiency
means that one
charge delivers
more than enough
power to cope with
the double shift
