September 1st 2007 After eight years using a high
capacity Sidetracker multidirection
reach truck to handle
press tools at its factory in West
Lothian, Mitsubishi Electric has
taken delivery of a second truck to
work in a production unit nearby.
Press tools at the factories weigh
up to 4t and used to be stored twohigh
on low-level racking. As the
number of tools increased, the
space needed was encroaching on
the production area.
Rather than extend, Mitsubishi
installed multi-level pallet racking
and uses a Sidetracker multidirection
reach truck to lift tools on
and off. The truck has a lift capacity
of 4100kg at 600mm load centre
and has allowed aisle widths and
