Providing printer protection July 1st 2007 Specialist card printer Richard
Edward, based in London's
Thamesmead, has purchased
barriers to protect two new printing
presses from damage by forklifts
and other vehicles.
The company recently invested
in two MAN Roland B1-size printing
presses, one a 5-colour machine;
the other a 10-colour perfector.
With the presses valued at some
£2.7m, the company wanted to
protect plant and operators from
forklifts and other vehicles.
It decided to install a Traffic
Barrier system from David Evans
Associates. Made from
polypropylene, the barriers provide
a high level of impact absorption
and deflection properties,
minimising damage both to
vehicles and barriers themselves.
After impact, they return to their
original shape in virtually every
instance, reducing the need for
repairs or replacement. Combining
a chest-height fence on the
pedestrian side with a low-level
fork-lift crash barrier on the vehicle
side, they are certified to BS 6399. |
