Quiet backing for trucks
September 1st 2005

At an open day held by HJ Banks at Blagdon Hall, Northumberland, visitors were impressed by the latest technology that eliminates noise pollution caused by the bleep of reversing trucks.

Instead of a high pitched bleep, trucks are fitted with broadband sound (Bbstek) based reversing alarms from Brigade Electronics.

These provide an effective warning at reduced decibels with an acceptable Shh...Shh. The sound is instantly and accurately locatable.

HJ banks also fitted engine and exhaust insulation to standard caterpillar dump trucks, achieving a 15 decibel reduction at full revs.
